Zebra 2 - Real-Time Pad Programming from Scratch - Synth Tutorial w/ zircon (Andrew Aversa)
In This Video, Zircon (Andrew Aversa) shows you how to do Zebra 2 – Real-Time Pad Programming from Scratch.
A companion video to my multi-part tutorial series centered on the award-winning Zebra 2 soft synthesizer for Mac and Windows. This is my all-time favorite synth and with this video I wanted to show my approach to building a Zebra 2 – Real-Time Pad Programming from Scratch. I did not have anything at all pre-planned for this – I just wanted to make some kind of pad. So, you’ll see my thought process and my general workflow when it comes to design a more complex and moving sound over time.
Zircon, in Zebra 2 – Real-Time Pad Programming from Scratch uses crisp oscillators to add more high frequencies, detune to give the initial patch more richness and effects like chorus to give the pad that rich sweet sound.
Also using reverb and delay to add further stereo width and a distinct roominess to the Pad only adds to the richness of the overall sound.
Adding the XMF filter next in the chain allows you to add further uniqueness and grit to the Pad sound which, by now, is sounding pretty great.
Zircon continues to add another oscillator, LFO`s and many other things to Zebra 2 – Real-Time Pad Programming from Scratch to add bass, clean up the mid range and create an awesome sounding patch that will fit beautifully into any chilled genre.
In Zircons Zebra 2 – Real-Time Pad Programming from Scratch he shows just some of the power of Zebra 2 and how easy it is to create something beautiful from nothing at all.
