Make Complex and Deep Pads in Uhe Zebra
In another user request this week I am showing you how to make more complex and melodic pads in U-he Zebra.
Not so long ago I created a preset pack for Zebra, a friend of mine (Talou Sound) also made some patches that are in there, this is one of them! It’s a pad that gets the main character out of the thin pulse wave (25%) and the Decimate filter in Zebra. At the end I also show you how to take a pad such as this further and make it into a melody or arpeggiator. With these kinds of pads its the details that really make a difference. For example try to send only a small percentage of the signal to a different lane and edit it further in there with different filters or different effects. Also try subtle pitch modulation and detuning. With the Amp knob on the LFO’s you can easily control the amount of the modulation without having to increase the range, this is very useful for subtle modulation. After you have setup all the basic stuff you can assign anything that you’d like to the X&Y controllers. Now you can create extreme differences and morph the sound into a whole new world of sound. You can try to modulate the filters and the effect settings, but also extreme things like tuning and even volume. This is a cool trick and I definitely recommend experimenting with it!
Have fun!
