LFO has become a huge hit in the EDM world thanks impart to it’s abundantly zealous use in genres like Dubstep and Drum and Bass. It’s role in creating the “Wobble” effect, has upped the appeal of LFOs to all new levels. In this tutorial, Jonny Strinati takes us on a seven minute journey showing us some tips and tricks to get the most out of your LFO usage, which will allow you craft masterful wobbles in no time!
Low-Frequency Oscillation, or more commonly known by it’s initials as LFO, is a low frequency electronic signal that is most commonly used to manipulate other signals. First introduced to modular synths in the 1960s, Low-Frequency Oscillation opened the door for a number of new sound alteration possibilities. Typically less than 20 Hz, LFOs are used in a wide range of musical applications and audio effects. Prime examples of these include vibrato, tremolo and phasing.
