In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works shows a quick tip, using the Filter FM in Massive to make huge, digital sounding basses!
Have you ever had a wobble, bass or some lead in Massive that just wasn’t big enough? Well before you go reaching for those third party saturation plugins, try using the Filter FM in Massive. It’s a great tool to help beef up weak sounds.
Filter FM in Massive is an effect that can be found in the MOD OSC. It apples frequency modulation to the cut off frequencies that are being attenuated or boosted. So the MOD OSC knob plays off of the filter cut off knob and vice versa. It’s sound is similar to FM but has a little character all its own.
To use the Filter FM in Massive you have to have at least 1 of the Filters on. It’s also helpful to note that you cannot use the Scream of Comb filter modes with the Filter FM.
