Ableton has nothing to do with this process. You can do everything we learn in this tutorial in Logic, FL, Pro Tools….

Please note the song we will be focusing on is the house song called “7up” from the introduction video. We will not be focusing on the hard style of dubstep songs from the intro video. Though they are fun songs, I feel that house music is more universally loved and will be the perfect song to break down and analyze for this tutorial.

About Your Tutor

“Hey there, I’m No Damage! Music’s been my jam over the last two decades. I started out playing different instruments and rock bands through high school and in my early 20s. After that I got heavily into classical music and film scoring until 2010 when I switch to electronic music and pop production which is been my passion over the last 10 years.

People and companies I have had the pleasure of working with include Sony Pictures, Jauz, Slushii, Ghastly, Clc, and DJ Mustard and tons more. I had the pleasure of working in some of the had the pleasure of working in some of the biggest studios in Los Angeles and around the world and I feel like now is a good time passing on my know-how to the next wave of music makers! And though I’m a strong believer, it’s not really what you know, but the vibe you can create and your vision that makes somebody special I feel like over the years I’ve learned all different types of productions from all different types of people from beginners, who impressed me to old-school legends. I have so much knowledge to give and I feel like in my tutorials It’s not just centered around just the topic in the title, but there’s so many tidbits that I like to add just to give you as much knowledge as I can throughout my videos, all I hope is that you not only learn something from me, but it genuinely improves your production and music skills!

Course Notes

PLUGINS:
We will be using Fab Filter, Ozone Advanced, Shaperbox, Shoothe 2, Trash 2, Shadow Hills Comp but you don’t need these to have follow this tutorial because of DAW standard plugins that do the same thing alongside alternates. It’s the knowledge that makes the mix not the plugins. Never once has a plugin mixed a song it’s the mind behind the tools that make the mix.

Skill Level:
This tutorial is designed to benefit producers of all skill levels, ensuring that everyone can enhance their craft through its comprehensive content. While prior intermediate production experience is not a prerequisite, it is essential to have a solid foundation in the basics of EQ and compression.
