Presently, synthesizers have become streamlined into the arsenal of present day music makers; however, this was not the case back in the 80’s, and this video from Dean Friedman gives us a glimpse of what it was like to learn sound synthesis during the early dawn of synthesizers.
let’s go over some necessary shock talk regarding sound and vibration…just so you don’t sound stupid at cocktail parties when people starting talking about sound vibrations.
The video is part of a 3-part series, and you can watch the second and third parts in the respective videos below.
While these videos are a bit dated, the concepts that Friedman discusses are, of course, very applicable to the use of synthesizers as well as understanding how they work. However, this may no longer be the case after the Google Magenta project begins to take flight.
