Glitchy Beat Machine Uses Springs and Coils To Make Interesting Rhythms

In this video from Norway-based artist Koka Nikoladze, we watch a demo of Beat Machine No. 2, an electromechanical musical instrument that makes use of various springs and coils to create a wide array of rhythmic and melodic patterns.

This, of course isn’t the first music machine that Nikoladze has made, with other projects including a rotating step-sequencer, a motor-powered contact amplifier, and more.

If you enjoyed his Beat Machine No. 2, Nikoladze has a myriad of DIY music projects that you can check out on his Vimeo page.
