Dissecting The Finger Reaktor Ensemble
This video offers a quick run through of the Reaktor Ensemble The Finger. A great ensemble that allows the user to play effects rather than audio!
In this video overview, YouTube user Greg B gives a brief run through of the Reaktor Ensemble The Finger. Much like iZotope’s Stutter Edit, Native Instrument’s The Finger allows you to play effects rather than audio. The Finger is fed an audio source which can then be mangled beyond recognition using a list of effects, parameters, and presets.
The Finger is a useful tool for both studio and live performance. It allows Musicians and DJ’s to warp music on the fly, while not having to worry about destroying the set with a bunch of poorly set effects. Personally, I’ve used it to fuel my creativity in the studio, as it allows me to quickly step out of my comfort zone and process audio in a way that I would have never thought of.
