In this video from Roger Linn, we watch him use the Linnstrument to demonstrate the powers of physical modeling synthesis with an expressive performance with the controller. The two physical modeled synthesizers featured in the video are Audio Modeling’s The Cello, and the Sculpture synthesizer included in Apple’s Logic and MainStage.
The LinnStrument defies the traditional-chromatic piano arrangement to allow a more expressive and organic performance (i.e. with pitch bends, slides, etc). Plus, it’s not only a MIDI controller, but a sequencer and arpeggiator as well.
Pricing and Availability
The Linnstrument is available in two models: 200 note pads and 5 octaves for $1499, and 128 note pads and 4 octaves for $999. You can visit the Roger Linn website to learn more.
