Jazzari Is A Programmable Band In Your Browser
Ever wanted to create music from the ground up with real code? Jazzari is a browser app that lets you program your own beats with Javascript code.
Jazzari was created by Jack Schaedler, a software developer at Ableton that has several fascinating projects on his Github page. Schaedler, describing why he named the app Jazzari, says:
The name is a riff on the 12th century scholar and inventor Ismail al-Jazari. al-Jazari is thought to have invented one of the first programmable musical machines, a “musical automaton, which was a boat with four automatic musicians that floated on a lake to entertain guests at royal drinking parties.
Whether you’re a seasoned programmer or have never written code in your life, Jazzari can be a ton of fun, adding a little bit of a twist to how you approach or think about music creation. You can check out the code repository on Github.
