How to use grid, quantize, and groove in Maschine
In this tutorial for the Mikro hardware and version 2 software, learn how to set your step size and use quantization and groove.
Quantization and groove are both useful functions in Maschine. Quantization allows you to lock your notes to an exact grid, making your sequence sound perfectly in time. First, I cover how to set the step size, which will determine how quantization affects your sequence. Then, I show quantization in several ways, including how to enable live quantization.
If your notes sound too “computerized”–that is, too digital and exact–you can use groove to add some natural swing.
For all features, I show both hardware and software techniques.
