Elka Panther

The Elka Panther 300, also known as the Capri, is a classic Italian combo organ of the 60s

The instrument produces bold, rich organ sounds and has a wide range of tonal variations (13). The Panthers 16′, 8′, 4′ Stops and Mixture voice levels are adjustable. Each note spans over three octaves, there is bass extension into grey keys and separate volume control for bass octave(s).

Tone Decay adds percussive effect to Mixture voices. The Panther has powerful vibrato with speed and intensity control.

Available as early as 1966, the Elka Panther was designed to have it all. Tweakable and versatile, families of sound would be activated using plastic switches – the on/off equivalent of pulling out stops on an organ. The switches controlled which family of sounds were activated, and were laid out horizontally in order of their pitch.

Lem Echo Music

Authentic Vintage Tape Delay Emulation with Added Customization

The Lem Echo Music plugin recreates the nostalgic tones of the vintage Italian tape delay effect from Lem. Martinic’s authentic emulation simulates the classic sound of three playheads on one strip of tape, with all the wonderful wow, flutter, and degradation of the original.

History

In the late ’60s and throughout the ’70s, pairing an electric organ with a tape echo unit was common. Organists like Lenny Dee modified their organs, adding a tape delay for an extra dimension. The LEM Echo Music, for instance, allowed organists to send their bass tone to a dedicated output, providing precise EQ and delay control.

Martinic Lem Echo Music emulates the vintage tape delay unit’s classic sound. The effect involves recording on a single reel of tape moving past magnetic playheads at different positions, playing back multiple copies of the original signal.

The playhead positions and delay times are fixed, not syncing to a DAW’s tempo. Recreated imperfections like wow, flutter, and degradation add uniqueness. Additional plugin features include tape saturation, stereo mode with pan controls, and reverb—enhancements not present in the original.

Features

  • Same tape delay as in Elka Panther plug-in
  • 3 playheads at 80 ms, 210 ms, and 330 ms
  • 7 delay tap combinations
  • Total tape loop length 9.5 s
  • Authentic wow and flutter
  • Wet mix and feedback controls
  • 2-channel mixer with bass/treble tone controls
  • Vintage VU meter

Advanced Features

  • Tape age control
  • Same reverb as in Elka Panther plug-in
  • Stereo mode with pan controls
  • Master volume control

Scanner Vibrato

Unveiling The Legacy

The original scanner-vibrato was developed in the 1940s, and was an analog, electromechanical device, consisting of an analog delay line and a mechanical rotor (“scanner”). The rotor was driven by the organ’s internal motor, and therefore its rate was fixed at about 6.9 Hz. The original scanner-vibrato could produce both chorus and vibrato effects, and it offered three depth presets.

Martinic Scanner Vibrato is modelled closely on the original scanner-vibrato, so it offers the same features (and flaws), perfectly preserving the character of the original effect. However, Scanner Vibrato is more flexible; you can adjust the rate, depth, and even stereo width. And best of all, you can apply Scanner Vibrato not only to organ sounds, but also to guitar, synthesizer, or whatever sound you like.

Features

  • Chorus/vibrato effect unit from well-known tonewheel organ
  • Improved ACE® technique model
  • Original C-1/C-2/C-3/V-1/V-2/V-3 depth/mix settings
  • Adjustable rate, depth, and mix
  • Optional stereo width with separate left/right rates
  • 16 presets, from classic chorus/vibrato to rotary-like effects
  • Tempo sync
  • Output volume control
