When creating depth in a mix, we are often quick to insert a reverb plugin. However, stereo delays can accomplish this task with equal strength, and Dave Pensado demonstrates an example of this.
While reverb can do wonders for enhancing a track, the effect will usually disappear when collapsed to mono. On the contrary, delay effects will retain mono-compatibility, due to the dry signal remaining intact.
The next time you reach for your favorite reverb, try instead to experiment with a delay. You may be surprised with how good it sounds!
