Tribute Song To Alan R. Pearlman Using The Arp 2500
As you very well have heard, Alan R. Pearlman, the man who had profound influence on the synthesizer world as the founder of Arp Instruments, has passed away at 93. In this video from Youtuber David Baron, he pays homage to Pearlman with an emotional piece using the Arp 2500 – one of the several synthesizers created by Pearlman that have continued to resonate with musicians and synth enthusiasts alike.
From the video’s description:
A short tribute to Alan Robert Pearlman who passed today. Thank you for making the Arp 2500, one of the most magnificent analog modular synthesizers.
The Arp 2500 was the first synthesizer to be released by Arp Instruments, and due to its unique-sounding oscillators, the accessibility it provided to a modular format, and many other characteristics, it has been a key synthesizer to the music world, being used by notable artists like Kraftwerk, David Bowie, Aphex Twin, The Who and many more. Of course, it was because of Alan R. Pearlman that the Arp 2500 and other synthesizers from Arp Instruments were gifted to the world, and his death has certainly been felt in the music world.
