PushPull Is An Open-Source, Electro-Acoustic Squeezebox
The squeezebox is one instrument classification that doesn’t get a whole lot of attention. However, this electro-acoustic squeezebox, known as PushPull, definitely adds a new dimension to the accordion realm.
From information provided by Synthtopia, we learn a little about how it works.
Moving the hand piece controls the air stream within the bellow and guides air to blow over microphones. The inertial sensors in the hand piece, together with capacitive fingertip sensors, let you continuously shape the sound.

The sounds that the PushPull creates are a bit hard to describe….almost like the sound of a creeky door combined with the sound of wet shoes squeaking across the floor. The project is entirely open-source and information is available at their Github page.
