Producer David Holmes Launches New Project
Belfast born producer David Holmes is probably most well known for his soundtrack work on massive Hollywood movies such as Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen. Those who dig a little deeper will find a string of artist albums that span many genres and break as many boundaries over the last 20 years.
Holmes started as a techno DJ and promoter of the legendary Sugarsweet club night in Belfast and in ’95 he released his first album, This Film’s Crap, Let’s Slash the Seats, which blended pounding club techno with deeper electronica. Since then he has released five artist albums, which have all found him producing in a plethora of different styles, plus many soundtracks and DJ mixes. This week he launched the new single of his latest project, Unloved. Drawing primarily from 60’s pop and Psychedelia, Holmes proves once again that he is one of the most interesting producers in the country, never happy to settle on a genre or style.
