Jean-Michel Jarre: "Music Is Cooking"
In this video, we listen to French composer Jean-Michel Jarre share his insight on making music, as well as express his feelings on what it means to be an artist. His best analogy by far, is that of comparing music to cooking a meal, with each frequency of of a track making a meal that is the song.
Regarding the composing process, he explains that it’s a “mixture of frustration and hope.” We feel that this carries considerable truth. We all know that feeling of burning excitement after we make a tune, however, we are well aware of the despair when this doesn’t happen.
Listen to his track, “Oxygene.”
