How To Create Some Of Daft Punk's Famous Synth Sounds
In this video from Youtuber Alex Ball, we learn how to recreate the synth sounds from some of Daft Punk’s most memorable songs using the Korg MS-20, Roland TB-303 and Sequential Circuits Pro-One.
This week I thought I’d demo three Daft Punk synth sounds / samples on original hardware.
As these are all VCO-based analogue synths that are the best part of 40 years old, you’ll probably find that settings vary slightly from one unit to the next. In fact, the settings vary on a daily basis on my own synths, depending upon temperature or how long they’ve been switched on etc.
In case you miss some of the small details from the video, which would be highly understandable given the breadth of information, he has provided a complete list of each of the synth settings in the video’s description. Even if you don’t own the synthesizers featured in the video, this tutorial could easily be applied to most commercial software and hardware synthesizers. Just have fun with it!
