Analog Synth Jam With The OB-6

In this video, we catch a live jam on the OB-6 analog synthesizer from Dave Smith Instruments. As you can hear, this synth definitely has some kick to it!

From the video’s description, he explains:

“This video is 100% OB6 doing synth stuff, with a backing drum loop from the Yamaha Montage. I recorded into Ableton with a little compression and some basic EQ.”

Something unique about the OB-6 is its frequency modulation, or X-mod, capabilities. When these modulations are driven through the analog filter, the tonality of the sound really gets brought to life.
