Zebra 2 - Making Dirty Bass Sounds
In This Video, Zircon (Andrew Aversa) shows you how to do Zebra 2 – Making Dirty Bass Sounds from scratch.
I love synths like Massive, but it’s a little known fact that Zebra 2 can make equally amazing dirty bass sounds. In this tutorial I’ll show you how to use things like custom wavetables, oscillator FX, modulation, XMF and VCF filters to create your own patches from scratch, perfect for genres like dubstep, big beat, electro house, etc. Hope you enjoy.
Zircon, in Zebra 2 – Making Dirty Bass Sounds uses wavetable synthesis to create a saw to square wave interpolated table for a deep rich sound.
He then goes on to use the spectroblend tool to create his own harmonic table for use in the sound. This process can be trial and error and looks more complicated than it really is and is known as additive synthesis which makes Zebra 2 – Making Dirty Bass Sounds a whole lot easier.
He then makes use of LFO`s to modulate the wave tables automatically which adds lots of movement to the sound. Also used are oscillator effects which are unique to Zebra 2 and add a unique dimension to sound design using Zebra 2.
In Zircons Zebra 2 – Making Dirty Bass Sounds from scratch he shows just some of the power of Zebra 2 and how easy it is to create something beautiful from nothing at all.
