Zebra 2 - How To Create A Mars Attack Type Effect

In this Zebra 2 – How To Create A Mars Attack Type Effect I will show you how to create a weird type martian invaders type effect, similar to the sounds in Mars Attack the movie.

This is a relatively simple patch using an oscillator which is in basic single mode using the Sine Tree (factory) wavetable preset. This wavetable uses the Spectroblend aspect of the oscillators to get a single harmonic tone.

After setting up the Oscillator in Zebra 2 – How To Create A Mars Attack Type Effect we then set up the LFOG (global Low Frequency Oscillators) and the LFO to their modulation parameters for future modulations.

After this we then add a Comb Filter. We use this to add the “weird” aspects to the sound giving it it`s other worldly type feel. We set up the Comb filters parameters then we are almost at the finished sound.

We then get into the modulation aspects using the above mentioned LFO`s to get some movement and spookiness in to the sound.

Finally in Zebra 2 – How To Create A Mars Attack Type Effect we add delay and reverb to give the sound its final eerie depth and weird spookie feeling.
