Learn Some Filter Tips and Tricks for NI Kontour
In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works will show you some tips and tricks for NI Kontour and both of it’s filters.
I quickly found out that in NI Kontour, although there are two filters, they work best when you use both of them.
The filters in NI Kontour are pretty unique and are capable of creating a wide range of sounds. You get two different types:
1.) Comb Filter
2.) State Variable Filter
The Comb Filter is a complex filter that will add a delayed signal to the sound and create many peaks and dips or resonant oscillations similar to those in physical systems. You get a host of controls and each one is covered in the video.
The Sate Variable Filter is my personal fav. You can think of it as a completely variable low-pass, bandpass and hi-pass filter. In most soft synths, you have the choice of either a low-pass, bandpass or hi-pass filter type, but in NI Kontour you can freely morph between the three. So you can combine all three filter types in one filter!
Check out the video to hear how the filters affect the sound in NI Kontour!
