Twisted Tools Vortex is a six track polyphonic sampler and sequencer for Native Instruments Reaktor 5. It comes pre-configured for Kore 2 and Maschine and features an original 250mb+ sample maps with samples by artists such as Antonio Blanca, c2, D’arcangelo, Richard Devine, Josh Hinden, Noklip, GlitchMachines.com, Mike Huckaby, Sonictwist, Timonkey, Tipper and Vinja. Each sampler track has 4 modulation sequencer tracks labeled Gate, Roll, ModA and ModB. The modulation sequencers are color-coded and can be easily assigned to modulate any sampler parameter(s). There are also two cross-modulating LFOs which are also color-coded and assignable. Extensive cut/copy/paste/select/randomize functionality is available using an innovative Graphic Layer system. You can learn more and grab your self a copy at the Twisted Tools website!
When you really start to dig into Twisted Tools Vortex, you begin to get the feeling that there is very little it cannot do in the way of sample manipulation. And with its automatic BPM detection and time stretching capabilities you can use any sound in any project. In fact, one of the only limiting factors in this equation is the user. So put your creative thinking cap on and dive right into this amazing Reaktor Ensemble and begin to change the shape of your sounds and your music. Literally.
Twisted Tools Vortex is broken into four main sequences pages, which consist of Gate, Roll, Mod A and Mod B. And as they state in the video, all you need to do is figure out one single track and you have basically mastered the entire ensemble. The Gate page is where you program your samples triggered on a track. The Roll page allows you to add drum roll or beat repeat effects in a similar fashion. The Mod a and Mod B pages are used to assigned modulation controls to any paramater and program them in a sequencer interface. Of course, you can apply modulation to all the same parameters in the first two pages as well. With many more abilities, too many to cover in this post, we think that Twisted Tools Vortex is a must have for any granular processing and experimental audio fans!
Cheers,
OhmLab
