The RingMod (ring modulator) is a well-kept secret of synth enthusiasts and dark hip-hop or dub producers everywhere.

Even though it’s not very well understood and often overlooked, the RingMod has been used in the design of many synthesizers, particularly in the early modular synths (Moogs, Oberheims, etc). Notably, it was also used as the voice of the “Daleks” in the iconic British TV series Dr Who. This means you can alter the sound in more than just the typical “robot voice” way. Instead, experiment with a variety of syncing, precise, and unique transforms.
