Filter Friend 2 is the successor to its successful predecessor. And what an upgrade! We have added a large number of filter engines with associated Filter types. You can now choose from a Ladder Filter, Diode Filter, Sallen Key Filter or State Variable Filter, and no less than 25 kinds of powerful Filter types. You can choose from 25 different Low Pass, High Pass, Bandpass, Peak, Notch and Band Reject types.

We also gave Filter Friend 2 the ability to customize its signal chain. The EQ and Distortion effect can be placed independently of each other and the filter. You can now determine for yourself whether, for example, EQ and/or Distortion take place before or after the Filter effects. This gives surprisingly unique results and gives you the opportunity to determine the character of your Filter effect yourself.

Filter and distortion effects can generate significant peaks in volume. That is why we have now also built in a transparent Limiter in Filter Friend 2.
With a tap of the button, Filter Friend 2’s output is capped at 0DB.

To automate the Filter effects, we have applied advanced timing-related options. First you choose from 1 of the 5 unique waveforms (Sine, Saw, Triangle, Pulse or Ramp) and determine the strength of them with the Depth knob. With the unique position (Pos.) option, the timing of the Filter effect follows the position of your DAW playhead relative to the length of your song at set speed. You can also manually adjust the waveform filter effect timing by setting Filter Friend 2 to FREE mode. The range of the rate knob in FREE mode is determined by the selected tempo setting and will be visually supported. You can also synchronize Filter Friend 2 with parts of the audio track by using the classic SYNC option.

Filter Friend 2 has no manual. Why not? The Filter Friend 2 interface is self-explanatory. When hovering over all its options, Filter Friend 2 will explain what they are for. This way it is easy to quickly understand all the plugin’s capabilities.
