How to Recreate the Synths from Firepower by Datsik with NI Massive

We welcome back KOSMOKAT as she shares yet another great tutorial with us! This time she breaks down three different synths in the song Firepower by Datsik with NI Massive.

There are three main synths that dominate this hit song, and KOSMOKAT shows how to create each one, step-by-step and explains everything along the way to keep it easy to follow along with. The result is three spot on sounds that she nails and you reap the rewards by adding learning how to design more signature sounds by Datsik with NI Massive. And Massive makes this all so easy that all three sounds can be made in about 10 minutes or so.

The first sound covered is a high pitched siren wobble that can be used as a main lead element in a song or simply as an accenting embellishment. It is meant to provide a sonic juxtaposition to the heavy and downright nasty characteristics of the other sounds featured in this song. This type of synth is also used by other popular dubstep and electro artists, such as Skrillex and Benga just to name a couple.

The second sound covered is the synth that she describes as kind of like a thermion. In the song is adds a certain harmonic element that is otherwise missing. On it’s own though, it is a very flexible kind of sound that can be used in many different styles of music. That is one thing that Datsik excels at, finding different sounds that clash and fit all at once. And lucky for us, it’s actually pretty easy to replicate many sounds made by Datsik with NI Massive.

The third sound covered is a type of rising drill synth that is one of those signature modern dubstep sounds that you must know how to make if you are producing for this incredibly popular genre. KOSMOKAT has become quite good at paying extra attention to the little details that make synths like these something special. Recreating sounds without any direction is harder than it looks when you are following along with video tutorials, so show her some props and check out the other stuff she has going on. Because replicating Datsik with NI Massive is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.
