This Web App Synthesizes The Human Voice

In this video we watch a demonstration of Pink Trombone, a web application that mimics the way in which the mouth creates sound, providing parameters including the oral and nasal cavities to manipulate the resulting sound.

When thinking about how the human voice produces sound, taking into account the small anatomical variances that can drastically change both volume and pitch, our voices are truly fascinating instruments. We wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more simulations like this in future software instruments.
