This DIY Synthesizer and Drum Machine Is Remarkable
In this video from otemrellik, we get a demonstration of his DIY synthesizer, drum machine and looper. Both incredible-sounding and godlike in appearance, the synth runs from an internal Raspberry Pi and an assortment of other ingredients.
Running a custom pure data patch I’ve been working on for a couple years on a Raspberry Pi 3. This project took a couple months and I’m still tweaking stuff here and there but it’s pretty much complete, it even survived it’s first live show!
From the information he provides on the synth’s Github page, we learn the full extent to which the synth is built, combining elements like a Teensy audio board, a Nintendo DS touch screen, a wide variety of custom pots and buttons, and much more. The pure data code is also available, of course.
In case you’re interested, otemrellik also details the inner workings of the synthesizer in the video below.
