Reason 9.2 Released - Enhances DSP Development
Propellerhead has announced Reason 9.2, a free update for Reason users that brings a new Rack Extension toolkit for DSP development. You can build your own instruments and effect units, as well as share them with other Reason users.
With Reason 9.2 and the new Rack Extension toolkit, developers can create devices with Reason’s unique sampling feature and create much better, more user friendly interfaces with hideable widgets and panels, improved displays and more. We believe this will lead to even more exciting instruments, effects and utilities to help Reason users everywhere make more and better music.
- User sample loading and sampling in Rack Extensions
- Customizable and switchable panels, widgets and tabs
- Numerous other improvements including display pop-up menus, modifier keys in displays and new ways to visualize audio and data
- Improved development, testing and debugging tools
The easier it is to break into DSP development the better, as it is by no means easy. However, after jumping the hurdle of the learning curve, it would not only be tons of fun to program your own instruments, but it could help shape your own musical style.
