Club Lights React To Dancers Movement

The Year, a nightclub opening up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has installed one of the most unique light set-ups we’ve seen. Typically, there is a sound guy that is controlling the lights in syncopation with the music. This light set-up, however, intelligently reacts to the energy of the dance floor.

It works by using a censor at the top of a cage light installment, analyzing the movement of the dancers’ in real time. Upon this analysis, the lighting effects take on different forms with different rates of speed. What would happen if everyone were standing still?
