In this tutorial for Maschine 2, learn how to add different instruments to your sampled beat project.
In this video for both software and hardware workflows, I cover the process of adding bass and horns to a beat centered on a piano sample. I start with bass, first just playing around with notes to find the ones that sound best to me. Once I have decided on notes and a rhythmic structure, I record my bass patterns and check them in the mix.
After working with bass, I move to adding horns. Try experimenting with different instruments–electric piano, acoustic piano, guitar, synths, etc–to find one that fits your specific project. I follow a similar process as the bass, first just playing around and then recording once I have a finalized idea.
