Using A Turntable To Create Waveforms
In this video, we watch a turntable being used to generate unique waveforms on the oscilloscope. By rotating printed paper disks on the record player, he uses a reflectance sensor to analyze the differences between black and white, subsequently producing the waveforms we see.
What’s cool about this demonstration is that he shows us how popular waveforms can be created with the device, such as the sawtooth, triangle, and sine waves. Even cooler is that these waves can be used to generate our own sounds.
